Sneak-a-peek..

It's true. New jewelry (+ some hair accessories) are on the way. It's just a matter of how soon I can figure out how to take decent close-up shots of the jewelry with my digi-cam...a skill I direly need but have yet to master (and yes this is a passive cry for help, Haley Prochnow. FOTOSHOOT WKND. Demanding it.) Anyway, as usual, all of the pieces are made from all kinds of vintage shit I've accumulated. And, therefore, it's one-of-a-kind and all that sweet jazz. Man I wish this was real...You start off living in the ocean with an orange flipper and fish friends, then you get washed up on a beach looking like a wild ocean pixie--and somehow sprout legs....Then you run around naked until you find the man of your dreams. My kinda night.

Charmed Life

I found these two photos in a dusty corner in an antique shop not too long ago. I love those white flower plumes. They reminded me of popcorn balls, or dainty lace doilies--which have been on the brain lately (the lace, not the popcorn balls. Ok, maybe the popcorn balls...) I'm thinking tea stained summer dresses? Yes sir. Something that would look just as nice as that sassy little girl scowling amongst the hydrangeas...

One Sweet Read

{A note to you, Dear Reader: Due to some technical camera issues and obscene weather conditions (haveyouheard???), the 'pearly shells' necklaces aren't quite up for sale yet, but they will be soon! I promise. Here is some eyecandy to keep you satiated until then...you better enjoy it.}

I had to fight my friend Seth for this book at the Hudson Goodwill. I've never seen something quite like it. And can we just acknowledge how apropos for my lastest "pearl" obsession...could it be fate that united us? Quite possibly. Between the intoxicating cover art, and the almost-too-precious chapter titles ("Rose-Petal Wings"? "The Young Man Whose Shadow Took Charge"?! and "Murredin and the Wonderful Lily"?!?!?!), all I can say is: ohmigodIthinkI'mfallinginlove...

Pearls of Wisdom

Pearls & shells have been inspirin' me up the wall ever since I got back from the West Coast. I think I've caught some form of ocean fever...very strange considering my aversion to water. But some necklaces have gone into production   because of all this (photos soon!). You know what else I heard?? That whole "grain-of-sand" thing isn't real....mind blowing.

Ok here we go. Project No. 1: Woodenpearls

I've been working on putting together a mini-collection for the summer. (Think cotton things. Think see-thru things. Think cropped things. And sailing knots. LOTS of sailing knots.) It all started during an epic drive to the ocean a about a month ago. I fell in love with the colors and textures and thought they were a perfect thing to work with during these sunny months. It's a pretty simple (and I'll be honest--overused) concept, but think my take will give you more of a "the-mermaid-from-Splash-meets-Tom-Hanks-in-Castaway" feel, Like magical driftwood or something. You'll see...I'll be posting a few finished pieces later this week. Holla back.

Ever since I watched Chariots of the Gods? last summer (Watch that shit. It will change you.), I've been hopelessly fascinated with the nazca lines, the pyramids, the idea that aliens started it all, yadda yadda yadda. A little while ago, on (yet another) thrifting spree, I found this book ^. The maps are the most interesting to me...look at where they are located! It makes no sense. It's kinda magical. I can't get over it.

Yes. It's true. Though we swore we would never tell anyone, Haley and I did attend the 2011 St. Catherine's University DewDrop Bop. And yes it fullfilled all of our wildest dreams. And yes we waited in line amongst chatty girls, and snotty kids to get this photostrip (which was nothing considering I've been waiting all my LIFE to get my pawz on one of these). And yes we got free ice cream--which provided awesome pose inspiration, as you can see...And yes it confirmed that I will never miss all-girl-private-catholic-school-end-of-the-year carnivals ever again. Ever.

Hi! You are observing the first post ever (Cool!). This blog, will be used to document my work (mostly fashion related, but my after hours are spent making  dizzy electronic music), process, and inspiration, along with a smattering of friends/muses work. Most of the things I will be posting, will also be available at my shop should you feel the need to own anything you find on here!

(Here's whats up with this post--I recently stumbled on a stack of old sketchbooks whilst moving not too long ago. Most of them were crap, but one had a plethora of collages I forgot I made! They were quite a nice surprise to find. I'll post the rest down the road!)
